8 gentle, heartwarming stories to soothe and inspire

22 full-page colour illustrations, lovingly crafted to bring The Glen to life

A lyrical narrative voice that welcomes you home on every page

Whether you're new to The Glen or returning once more, this book is your fireside companion—a place of rest, hope, and the magic of being just as you are.

Stories included in this edition:

  1. The Tale of The Glen That Always Was
A lyrical beginning. On a frost-kissed night, Wind discovers a fire that does not fear her and Mouse invites her to stay.
  2. The Very First Morning
The Sun is persuaded to rise for the very first time by the heartfelt pleas of Owl, Hedgehog, and Mouse—and only agrees on one condition.
  3. The Frosty Council
In the depths of Midwinter, Wind, Snow, Stream, and Raven gather under the Grand Oak to question their worth—until Rabbit whispers a quiet thank you.
  4. A Winter’s Rest
A wintry picnic in The Glen—with tea, moss under bare paws, and chatter from trees and brooks—invites readers to savour stillness.
  5. The Heart of The Glen
Rabbit meets a mysterious ancient being at the edge of the world—and faces a shadow that nearly silences him. But a single flower teaches him that the song is never lost.
  6. A Story for Friends
On a winter’s night, Rabbit reads aloud by the fire. The tale of a Cherry Tree—loved in spring, forgotten in winter—reminds us that true friendship never fades.
  7. Nearly The End
Mouse reads from an ancient book as Old Oak drinks deep from his goblet of magic. The story of Rabbit and Elva, a fairy who searched the world to return home, is finally told.
  8. Goodnight
The Glen quietens. Mouse says goodnight, Elva flies through the silver skies, and Rabbit sits beneath the moon. A blessing is whispered over every soul.
