Why My Shop Uses PayPal

Why My Shop Uses PayPal

Dear Hearts,

Every so often, someone asks why the checkout in my little webshop runs through PayPal — so I thought I’d take a moment to explain.

The Glen is created and run entirely from the Isle of Man, a very small and special place that doesn’t fit neatly into many of the big online payment systems. Because my business is small and independent, I don’t yet have access to the larger international gateways that most mainland companies can use.

For now, PayPal is simply the only service that allows me to receive payments from around the world — safely, smoothly, and in one place — so that I can keep sending books, calendars, and prints from this tiny island studio to all of you.

When you buy a book, it goes through a large international printing company that handles their own payments. Everything else — the calendars, prints, cards, and small treasures — comes directly from me here in The Glen, wrapped and posted with care.

Thank you for your understanding, and for supporting a small, independent creator. Every order truly helps me to keep writing, creating, and sharing comfort and magic from this quiet corner of the world.

I hope this little note helps explain how things work behind the scenes — and how very grateful I am that you’re here.

With love and gratitude,
Victoria Beata
Author & Illustrator of Tales of The Glen

P.S. You don’t need a PayPal account to order — simply click “Pay with PayPal,” then choose “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” to check out securely with your card.

A simple thanks! Your work is inspiring me and helping my friends I share with here in the U.S.
I hope to come to the Isle of Man and see you someday. I love UK, Scotland and have been on pilgrimage on the Isle of Iona. Blessings to you and THANK YOU for what you’ve shared about “PayPal” . I’ve been looking for a way to use this and your explanation helps me in what I am doing. Hidasta.com. drmattie.decker@gmail.com
